Coronavirus: Current measures and recommendations of the University of Wuppertal

Updated information from the rectorate on further measures to protect against the spread of the coronoa virus, especially for employees and students who have returned from China (Hubei Province) since 1 January 2020 or who had or have close contact with persons from the aforementioned region, can be foundhere.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has now declared an international emergency to contain the spread of coronavirus beyond the borders of affected countries and regions. Due to the increasing incidence of the disease outside of China, the university management of the University of Wuppertal has taken measures to protect its relatives and guests and continues to offer support.

For example, business trips to the particularly affected Chinese province of Hubei cannot be approved until further notice for reasons of employer welfare. Business trips to other provinces of the People's Republic of China can only be authorized as an exception and in individual cases which cannot be postponed. In this case and for already booked trips, which are not cancellable free of charge, please contact the travel expense center. More information on this can be found in the current Newsletter No. 10.

Please inform yourself about the respective regulations on a daily basis. The occupational medicine service of the University of Wuppertal is available to answer any questions. Students who have family members in the region who may have fallen ill can contact the student advisory service of the University of Wuppertal.
