Netiquette
We communicate with the public, students, academics and other interest groups via the University of Wuppertal's central social media channels. The activities are planned and managed by the social media editorial team in the Press Office.
On our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube), we share important and interesting information on the topics of science, research, teaching and studies. If you have an event, project or news item that should be shared on our channels, we would be happy to receive your suggestions. If you are photographing an event yourself and making the photos available to Press and Public Relations for further use, the GDPR must always be observed. You can find more information on this in our FAQs. However, please understand that not every report, event or impression can be published on the channels. Please contact social{at}uni-wuppertal.de with your suggestions.
If you would like to present your faculty or institution on social networks, we will be happy to help you get started and choose a suitable channel. The social media guidelines provide you with initial assistance in dealing with social networks. Here you will find tips and rules that you should follow if you want to use social networks as an institution or as an employee of the University of Wuppertal.
We are currently monitoring developments regarding twitter/X very closely. For the time being, we are deciding against withdrawing from the social network, as we want to remain connected with our academics, researchers and the public and use our reach to report on our research and teaching. However, we are also considering moving to another channel (e.g. Mastodon). If you have any questions, please contact us at kukulies@uni-wuppertal.de
